Deuteronomy 11:16-17,"16) Take heed to yourselves, that your heart be not deceived, and ye turn aside, and serve other gods, and worship them; 17) And then the Lord's wrath be kindled against you,". Pay close attention to yourselves so you don't turn away from God and his commands. Be careful not to have other gods that you serve more willingly, or with more enthusiasm than you do the Lord. If you have a choice between going to church and going to another activity; and you choose the other activity then you are in danger of stirring up the Lord's wrath and anger toward yourself. Do you get more excited over hunting or a ballgame than you do when in the presence of God? Do you choose television or the internet over studying God's word? Are you serving the gods of this world or the Almighty God? Do not fool yourself. Do not think,"!Well hunting isn't a sin!" In and of itself, it isn't. But we sometimes choose to make it one by placing it's importance ahead of God. The same as that ballgame or Facebook aren't sin in and of themselves; they only become sin when they become a god. Back up to Deuteronomy 11:13," Ye shall hearken diligently unto my commandments which I command you this day, to love the Lord your God, and to serve him with all your heart and with all your soul." Are you serving God in this manner?
