Here's the photo of Marylin Monroe which was released to the newspapers after she died:
But the above photo was touched up to remove the image of the blood stain that was on the wall.
Here's one of the originals reprinted from the negatives years later:
In the second photo you can see that there's a blood stain on the wall and obvious signs of a struggle.
Also the degree of lividity in her face indicates that she died face down and was flipped onto her back several hours later. Lividity is the settling of blood after someone dies and it's one of the ways that a coroner can determine how long someone has been dead.
I think it's possible that she fell face down right where you see the blood stain and was later placed face up on the bed.
