With seven goals in his last six Premier League matches, Tottenham's Harry Kane is on one of his typical goal-scoring tears in England's top flight.

Admittedly, the 28-year-old Kane started 2021-22 in unconvincing fashion, on the heels of a noisy summer in which he was pursued by Manchester City. But the move never materialized and he began the campaign in a sort of malaise, failing to register a Premier League goal until his seventh appearance of the season against Newcastle United in October.

Neverthele s, the prolific English striker is once again back into double figures in the English Premier League, as well as scoring over Dylan Floro Jersey 20 goals in all competitions for his side this season (22 total).

Even more impre sively, thanks to this latest goalscoring run, Kane has now overtaken Arsenal legend, Thierry Henry and Chelsea icon Frank Lampard to move up to fifth on the goalscoring charts in Premier League history. He is now up to an extraordinary 178 goals.

And more than half of those goals have come on the road after he set the all-time mark for road goals scored in Premier League history (95) with his tally Brighton on March 16.

"Milestones are great, especially away from home it's always tough," Kane said after the Brighton match. "To know you can do it year on year against tough opposition is really nice. But it's all about the team and working hard. We've got to keep it going. We're playing good football and we've just got to keep winning games."

The No. 3 spot could be a realistic target for Kane by the end of May.

Kane, who turns 29 in July, has time on his side as he is currently in the prime of his career. If he stays fit for the foreseeable future, there is a very real chance he could move into the top two of Premier League goal scorers.

Kane still has 82 more goals he needs in order to equal the record of the Magpies' talisman. That is likely to require 5-6 more years of high-level, double-digit production to even come close. It's clear that Kane has a lot of work ahead of him to finish No. 1.
