BIBLICAL EXAMPLE OF THE TRINITY: MATTHEW 3:16-17 (NKJV) When He had been baptized, Jesus came up immediately from the water; and behold, the heavens were opened to Him, and He saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and alighting upon Him. And some say there’s no such thing as the Trinity. No such thing as the Trinity? Man is made in God The Father’s Image? Mankind is also a trinity...spirit, soul(a), body? (a)ψυχή - psūchê - Word in original Greek. It can mean “mind, will and emotions”. It’s where we get our modern word “psychology”. Sounds like this “No such thing as the Trinity” stuff is nothing more than some goofy man-opinion, Scripturally-speaking... The Genesis passage says, “...In Our Image...”, “...according to Our likeness...” It doesn’t say either “Carbon Copy” or “Miniature Version Of”. It is also NOT a matter of “1/3 + 1/3 + 1/3 = 1” when it comes to all things “God The Father”. It’s more like “1/3 + 1/3 + 1/3 = 1 yet 3 yet 1 yet 3 yet 1 yet 3 yet…” Whether with God The Father or with mankind, there’s a mystery to it either way. Merely an individual trying to grasp the concepts of Isaiah 55:8-9, (His thoughts/ways are higher), the Trinity, the manifold (multifaceted) wisdom of God The Father, Jesus being the “Alpha and Omega”, us being absent from the body = present with God The Father, those born again (or “born from above” – or “born anew” – John 3:1-6 – https://biblehub.com/greek/509.htm ) being crucified with Jesus, the contrast between the Old Testament and the New Testament, Exodus 3:14 in conjunction with the seven “I AM” passages in John, the comparison of looking at a snake impaled on a pole in the O.T. and how it was all symbolized in the N.T. in the finished work of Calvary with the defeat of death and how (see also Romans 5:10 for more information), the “Israel of God” in Galatians 6:15-16, sin being forgiven versus taken away (John 1:29), the possibility of a person in Jesus reaching the end of physical life only to awaken to the sound of a trumpet blast, the concept of a day being like 1,000 years and vice versa, how these “last days” began over 20 centuries ago, how a human tends to store past events in memory yet God The Father forgets forgiven sin to the point of oblivion, the Wedding Supper of the Lamb in Revelation, the possible billions of years between Genesis 1:1 and 1:2, the Sovereignty of God The Father (Genesis 2:16-17) compared to the will of man at the same time (Jude 1:24) and so on...Mysteries, perhaps, but that type of stuff IS worship. Without attributes such as those, God The Father would cease to be God The Father. We humans would have everything figured out and there would be nothing available of which to be in awe. (SIDE NOTE – The term “Christ” is a title, not a name. It means either “The Anointed One” or “Messiah”.)
