Buck 110 and 112 pocket knife, both American, designed and manufactured in the United States.
In 1963, the first hunting knife with a reliable lock was born that practically turns it into a fixed blade knife, the lock it uses is the famous LockBack that was created 500 years ago before the 110. but Buck redesigned it and I take it to the end of the handle, doing it more resistant.
In that year only 700 units were manufactured without the 110 marking and in 1964 it was named 110 for the first time and it was of normal production. To date, more than 15 million have been manufactured.
But it was not only used by hunters or field people, the United States Navy saw the 110 as a great tool for it's sailors until 1971, when 2 sailors used it for a fight and from there they were prohibited from using pocket knives. more than 3" of blade in 1972, the Buck 112 was born, with 3" blade it was ideal, neither too small not too big, a guard was added to the front to make it safer and with the same quality and resistance as the 110, became the Buck Ranger 112 of the American Navy ??
