BELIEVING JOHN 3:16 ALONE HAS NO POWER TO SAVE ANYONE TODAY
There is nothing in John 3:16 that tells us that CHRIST DIED FOR OUR SINS.
There is nothing in John 3:16 that tells us that CHRIST WAS BURIED.
There is nothing in John 3:16 that tells us that CHRIST ROSE AGAIN THE THIRD DAY.
Those three (3) things a person is required to believe in order to be saved, TODAY, in order to have forgiveness, and have eternal life in heaven. 1Cor 15:1-4 KJV.
Therefore, John 3:16 isn't the gospel that saves TODAY. That verse comes from ISRAEL'S doctrine in Time Past.
The GRACE gospel that saves us TODAY, in this dispensation of grace, WAS STILL A SECRET HID IN GOD in Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John, because Christ didn't reveal it until he revealed it to PAUL in Acts 9. See Ro 16:25; Eph 3:1-8 KJV.
Since the GOSPEL OF GRACE was a SECRET hid in God, until Christ revealed it to PAUL, and God CANNOT LIE, we can be confident that John 3:16 is NOT the gospel that saves TODAY in this present DISPENSATION OF GRACE. See Ro 16:25; Eph 3:1-8 KJV.
Paul tells us clearly that he was the FIRST to be saved by grace through faith without works (1Tim 1:16; Eph 2:8-9 KJV).
Christ sent the 12 to water baptize, which is a work (Mat 28:19 KJV), but Christ sent Paul NOT to baptize (1Cor 1:17 KJV). Which proves that Paul received a DIFFERENT gospel and a different ministry than the 12.
During Christ's EARTHLY ministry water baptism was a requirement for salvation (Mr 16:16 KJV).
But Now, during Christ's HEAVENLY ministry adding any works at all cancels the grace, faith is made void, and the promise of eternal life is made of none effect (Ro 11:6; Ro 4:14; Tit 1:2 KJV).
But Now, during Christ's HEAVENLY ministry TODAY, which he committed exclusively to PAUL to give to us, we are saved WITHOUT WORKS once we have believed the same gospel that Paul received and preached (Ro 1:16; Ro 2:16; 1Cor 15:1-4; Eph 2:8-9 KJV).
In 1Corinthians 15:1-4, Paul plainly says the gospel BY WHICH WE ARE SAVED is the same gospel Paul preached (Verses 1 & 2), and the same gospel that Paul received and delivered to the Corinthians (Verse 3), which Paul declares in Verses 3 & 4.
It couldn't be any clearer; read what Paul says ...
1Corinthians 15:1-4 (KJV): "Moreover, brethren, I DECLARE UNTO YOU THE GOSPEL WHICH I PREACHED unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand;
2 BY WHICH ALSO YE ARE SAVED, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.
3 For I DELIVERED unto you first of all THAT WHICH I ALSO RECEIVED, how that Christ DIED FOR OUR SINS according to the scriptures;
4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:"
1 Corinthians 1:17 (KJV): “For Christ sent me NOT to baptize, but to preach the gospel: not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made of none effect.”
Ephesians 2:8-9 (KJV): "For by grace are ye SAVED THROUGH FAITH [ i.e. believing the gospel; 1Cor 15:1-4 ]; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
9 NOT OF WORKS, lest any man should boast."
During his EARTHLY ministry, Jesus Christ told the 12 NOT to go to the GENTILES (Ma 10:5 KJV), and that he was sent only to ISRAEL, i.e. the Jews (Ma 15:24 KJV).
Paul tells the same thing about Jesus being sent TO the circumcision, i.e. Jews (Ro 15:8 KJV).
Later, on the road to Damascus, after Israel FELL in Acts 7, Christ commissioned PAUL alone to be the apostle TO the Gentiles (Ro 11:13; 1Tim 2:7; 2Tim 1:11).
Nowhere in Matthew, Mark, Luke, or John is there a gospel of salvation for us Gentiles WITHOUT WORKS and without going through a Jew (because it was a MYSTERY kept SECRET: Ro 16:25; Eph 3:1-8 KJV).
Christ only appointed PAUL to be the minister TO the Gentiles.
And, Christ also made PAUL the minister to the Church the Body of Christ (Col 1:23-26 KJV), whom Christ also committed the revelation of the MYSTERY, which had been kept SECRET since the world began (Ro 16:25; Eph 3:1-8).
The MYSTERY is all about God forming the NEW creature, the Church the Body of Christ, through PAUL'S GOSPEL (1Cor 15:1-4), what its to do (2Cor 5:16-18; Php 3:17-21; Rom 16:25-26 KJV), and where its headed (heaven!).
What Paul wrote in Romans through Philemon are the words of Jesus Christ to us, the members of the Church the Body of Christ.
The members of the Church the Body of Christ are those who have believed Paul's gospel of Christ: 1Cor 15:1-4; Eph 2:8-9 KJV, and that is what we are commanded by the Lord to preach to the lost (1Cor 14:37; Ro 16:25-26 KJV), for this present dispensation of grace.
