The Three Needs Of Every Child:

1. A Secure Love.

2. A Significant Purpose.

3. A Strong Hope.

These three needs are also needed by every person.

These three needs can only be provided IN Christ Jesus.

A SECURE LOVE

Romans 5:8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

9 Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.

Romans 8:35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?

36 As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.

37 Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.

38 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,

39 Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

A SIGNIFICANT PURPOSE

1 Corinthians 12:12 For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body: so also is Christ.

13 For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit.

14 For the body is not one member, but many.

1 Corinthians 12:23 And those members of the body, which we think to be less honourable, upon these we bestow more abundant honour; and our uncomely parts have more abundant comeliness.

24 For our comely parts have no need: but God hath tempered the body together, having given more abundant honour to that part which lacked:

25 That there should be no schism in the body; but that the members should have the same care one for another.

26 And whether one member suffer, all the members suffer with it; or one member be honoured, all the members rejoice with it.

27 Now ye are the body of Christ, and members in particular.

Colossians 3:20 Children, obey your parents in all things: for this is well pleasing unto the Lord.

21 Fathers, provoke not your children to anger, lest they be discouraged.

Ephesians 6:1 Children, obey your parents in the Lord: for this is right.

2 Honour thy father and mother; (which is the first commandment with promise;)

3 That it may be well with thee, and thou mayest live long on the earth.

4 And, ye fathers, provoke not your children to wrath: but bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.

A STRONG HOPE

Ephesians 2:12 That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world:

13 But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ.

1 Thessalonians 4:13 But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope.

14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.

15 For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.

16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:

17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

18 Wherefore comfort one another with these words.

Romans 5:1 Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:

2 By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.

3 And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience;

4 And patience, experience; and experience, hope:

5 And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.

Romans 15:13 Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost.

Titus 2:13 Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;

1 Corinthians 15:19 If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable.

Proverbs 22:6 Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.

NOTES:

Parents today teach their children with no permanence of love, no absolutes of truth, and no moral boundaries, instead of strengthening them with the principles of grace and the other teachings from God’s word, as we are rightly dividing the word of truth.

Grace based homes should have clear set boundaries with spiritual expectations that are based on scripture and sound doctrine, not merely Christian opinion.

Grace based parenting helps parents make more balanced decisions based on a faith application of truth from the Creator and his written word.

Grace parenting doesn’t assume that there is a check list that creates a Christ-like kid.

Grace based parenting works on our children from the inside out.

Fear based parenting effects the child from the outside in, and it doesn’t work.

Fear based parenting is characterized by check-lists or performance-based acceptance systems. It offers no latitude to the child and it turns faith into a formula. It sets boundaries on unsubstantiated Christian opinion, and it strengthens sin in the child’s life.

Whereas, grace allows God and his word to teach and work effectually in the child. It offers the child latitude, and sets the child free from performance-based acceptance slavery. It offers clear moral boundaries and spiritual expectations based on scripture, and it works from the inside out. And, that empowers the Holy Spirit to take that word of God in the believing child and helps them reach their best and highest potential IN Christ.
