Confession appeals to Israel's covenant promise, not to the complete work of the cross of Christ. Confession is a work of righteousness (see 1 John 1:9) and Paul teaches the church today, which is Christ's body, that God counts faith for righteousness, not work (Rom 4:4-5, Eph 2:8-9). The Bible says every one that put their faith solely in the Lord Jesus Christ and his death for our sins, and his burial, and his resurrection for our justification, have been forgiven ALL trespasses for Christ’s sake through his blood, not because we confessed our sins or anything else (Rom 1:16, 1 Cor 15:1-4, Eph 4:32, Rom 3:24-25, Rom 4:24-25, Eph 1:7, Col 1:14).?Colossians 1:14 KJB14 IN WHOM [Christ] we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins: Grace ✝️
