Just had a nap dream that shook me to a deeper intercession for our President. In the White House, I had gone in search of him as part of a serving volunteer, was told he was upstairs. He was seated, organizing his desk in the 'People's room', as he called it. Clearing the mountain of clutter off his desk, he shoved a stack of papers a little too close to the edge, accidently causing them to fall to the floor. As he moved to fix his mistake, I told him, "I'll get it." We talked as I gathered the loose papers from where they had fluttered around the room. He was kind and approachable, but cautious. As I went to place the papers on a shelf that pulled out from under the desk, briefly seeing other papers there (probably confidential), he immediately assumed the worse of my intentions, accusing me of trying to see information there. I jerked my hand back, purposefully making eye contact, saying "No. I just want to help"His expression instantly changed to remourse, seeing the hurt in mine at assuming the worse of my intentions, waving me on to continue what I was doing. My heart ached, realizing there were few he could trust; always giving, everyone take-take-taking, yet unwilling to give of themselves to partner with what he was called to do. In that moment I saw the man in office that God saw; willing but tired, kind but wary, open but guarded. He needs you, he needs me, he needs U.S.-pray *art by Ricardo Colon
