One morning in my #ArmorofGod Word study, I was deeply stirred by the passages referencing a life not rooted in Truth, where one is not daily "putting on" ALL of the Armor of God [Ephesians 6:13]-it was very sobering.
In Genesis, the devil tries out the same method on Eve, that he used in convincing a third of the angels to follow him out of perfect Heaven, "Did God really say?"
In Numbers, Moses struck the rock, rather than trusting God, using his spiritual authority and speaking to it. End result? They received water, but at what cost? Moses never entered the Promised Land
In Psalm, because the children of Israel forgot God, grew impatient in the wilderness, rejected His Lordship, they received what they demanded, but along with a plague-not the goodness He wanted to pour out on them.
In Jonah, we see how his disobedience brought consequences to innocent bystanders. Our choices matter.
In Romans, they rejected Truth for their own pleasures, how they wanted truth to look like, resulting in a deceptive life void of Him, turning away from their God into darkness.
In Ephesians, the spiritual babies were unable to teach what they did not possess. They could not lead, because they needed leading. They could not discern Truth from lies, because they were deceived, they could not live in unity because they were divided. Their minds were not renewed, so they lived a life of second guessing God, wandering in confusion, and ultimately headed for destruction.
As I read these, my heart was convicted to press in closer to Him. I want to feel His Breath, hear His Voice, have Him so close to my spirit that nothing of the enemy would even dare to get near-that nothing outside the will and plan of God could even gain a foothold, that His desires would become mine, so tightly meshed, that my needs and wants would become indistinguishable.
Do you desire this too? Whether we like it or not, we live in enemy territory-our minds are a battlefield. But we are NOT helpless or hopeless, we do not have to react in defense, but charge him on the offense. When we pick up and put on each piece of Armor, before each day begins, we let the devil know who we are and to Whom we belong. We are then protected from enemy darts, but looking to Jesus to fight our battles

Genesis 3:1 "Did God really say?"
Numbers 20:12 -leaned on own understanding
Psalm 106:13-15 Quickly forgetting their God, allowing their desires to overrule God's, testing His patience, receiving what they wanted, but not how He intended it.
Jonah 1:4 Disobedience affected others
Romans 1:21 - Head knowledge over surrender to His Sovereignty. Deception crept in and they walked away from Him
Romans 2:6-9 Those who lived for their glory over His, received judgment; God's anger, wrath, trouble and calamity
Ephesians 4:14 - The spiritually immature have no convictions or stability, grasp onto the latest teaching and are tricked by lies. No discernment, wisdom or Christ standard of living.
[18-19] wandering from the Truth of God's Word, minds dark, clouded, confused, easily susceptible to the lies of satan. Closed minded, hardened hearts, shameless, driven by lust, impure thoughts and behavior
