Just like manna provided in the wilderness, the Word of God is fresh, satisfactory, filling, but it is intended as fuel for that day. The next morning will bring a new supply, so we return to our Father with open hands, receiving hearts.
When we forget our God and lean on our own strength, He will sometimes allow circumstances to remind us of our dependence on Him-as a good parent would.
What can we learn from the Children of Israel, as they wandered around the mountain for 40 years? They were provided for in the wilderness; they were not in lack, their clothes never wore out, but it was not what their Lord had intended. He saw them in the Promised Land, prosperous surrounded in blessing and favor.
If we walk in obedience, seek the Lord, remain in a state of gratitude and praise, looking to Him for help and strength, we receive God's best. We will reach our destination much quicker than imagined.

Yes, He humbled you by letting you go hungry and then feeding you with manna, a food previously unknown to you and your ancestors. He did it to teach you that people do not live by bread alone; rather, we live by every word that comes from the mouth of the Lord. -Dueteronomy 8:3 NLT
