The most annoying thing about mainstream media treatment of #autism is the ignorance re how rates just of severe autism have surged over time. If you think that rates of autism with intellectual disability rose from .01% to 1.3% — a 130-fold increase — over just 50 years due to "awareness" I have quite bridge to sell you. An overview of the actual data is below.From my discussions with journalists over the years they are afraid to give credence to rising rates bc they fear feeding the vaccine narrative.Agreed, that is a concern. But the logic of "vaccines don't cause autism, therefore the rates can't be rising" is utterly absurd. Other things can be causing rates to rise. And we will find them.
