I adopted 2 #Parakeets on Tuesday. Meet Lily (blue, gray), 4-5 yrs old & Charlie (yellow, greenish, teal), about 10 yrs old. They're both boys & don't like being handled. I'm hoping that'll change with time. The little old lady that owned then couldn't care for them anymore. I'm working on switching their diet from wild birdseed, with things they can't eat, to a parakeet diet. I eventually want them to eat fresh fruit & veggies/greens too. We're working on trust issues right now. I got two types of treats for them on Thursday. They have no idea what fresh or dried fruit is, but they love the millet. I can tell who's the leader & the follower.?If Charlie eats the new stuff, Lilly will eat it. If Charlie plays with the new toy, Lilly will play with it. ?#BirdFamily #BirdMom
