As you celebrate this most sacred occasion for Christians today, remind your family that Easter is not a secular observance designed to usher in the warmth of spring. Nor is it simply a day for children to search for eggs and overindulge by eating chocolate bunnies. All of that is how modern culture has attempted to reinvent this spiritual day of celebration.At its heart, Easter is the commemoration of Christ's death and resurrection, and the promise of eternal life for those who choose to believe in Him.Because of what Jesus did for us on the cross, someday we will each receive a crown of righteousness prepared for those who have fought a good fight, finished the course, and kept the faith (2 Timothy 4:7-8). Let's rejoice in our knowledge that Christ is risen. He is risen indeed!
