America's Voice News:
Illinois public schools may be requiring sexual education for students as young as kindergarten if a law supported by Planned Parenthood called Responsible Education for Adolescent and Children’s Health Act (REACH).
The REACH Act details a progression ladder of sex education, starting at kindergarten and increasing as the child moves up. For example, K-2nd grades will learn “personal safety and respecting others,” 3-5 will cover “anatomy, sexual orientation, gender identity and gender expression,” and 6-12 “would build upon that and include benefits of abstinence, birth control and prevention of STDs.”
“Now more than ever they need medically and factually accurate information as well as a safe environment to develop the skills they need to navigate our modern world,” Sen. Ram Vilivalum (D-IL) said of the proposed law.
