On February 03 @ ~8:30 pm I purchased an iPad3 from Target in Emeryville and promptly, incredulously, it was SHOPLIFTED from the counter by a women in business attire before I could walk away from the electronics counter!
Target refused to replace it saying the purchase was completed and refused to show me the store's surveillance tape.
Emeryville police refused to take a crime report... to add insult to injury I was accosted by Emeryville police in the parking lot within 30 minutes around 9:15pm on February 03, 2013 for RESISTING ARREST!
I was able to obtain the surveillance tape from Target for this incident since it was a criminal case and...get this.. Only the Emeryville police can authorize release of a private company's surveillance tape !???

To document this corruption on March 01, 2013, I filed this report with the competent Oakland police department, of course I assumed criminal penalties would apply if I were to a false criminal report:

The entire transactions were on video and the clerk was alerted of the theft at the counter. He said he would have loss prevention review the video tape. I was not allowed to get a copy or view the video tape but I was informed the entire incident was given to the Emeryville Police who refused to acknowledge the loss or take a crime report.
including unrelated to iPad , array microphone bundled with other accessories (Brand sony) and hands free car accessory (Moto 2xx)

02/03/2013 8:53pm 180.58 included $40 cash (verify with video receipt of cash but keypad is vulnerable to PIN visibility having a handheld large key red plastic credit card interface.
Of the three transactions I only left the store with the purchase of the ticket of 8:53pm (socks, moto and sony ps3 access).
I did not leave the area of the electronics department with the iPad 3 having put it on the counter. The inability to get the clerk or the store to react quickly surprised me.
I was waiting for the response with the time nearing 9pm so I informed the clerk and the security at the front of the store of my intention to go to a store to see if I could get a price comparison for the individual item (Game Stop). Time was off the essence and no motive to confront any shoppers was intended but I was unable to return to the electronics department having been accosted and arrested by Emeryville off duty and on duty Police. Could I get a copy of the store video?

That's why I'm recreating the events of Feb 03, 2013 in front of Target where I was charged with resisting arrest and felony charges for having 15 qty. 81mg baby aspirin Crooked Emeryville cop Brian 'liddle' Head said was ecstasy!
It seemed too staged after time passed as I was able to put 2+2 together.
Alameda DA wanted me to say 2+2=5 (#1984) and I refused

Todd Thyberg My wife’s phone and credit cards were stolen over Christmas. They charged almost $3000 of stuff at Macys in 10 minutes! SF cops tried to help, but we have never been able to see the video tape. Makes you wonder if it was an inside job at Macy’s?

Michael Kowitz dispute the item with the credit card company since you never received the item. It is not a completely sale if you never took possession of the item. Thus the burden of proof is on the store. Another alternative is to sue the store in small claims and supeona the surveillance tape.
