Immediately he turns to God for His opinion and what to do, calls for a fast and gathers his people to pray and call on heaven for answers.
Jehoshaphat stands up, loudly declaring the works, wonders and praises of his God, reminding his Lord of all the ways He had come through before. He boldly requests justice on his enemies, detailing how they have come against HIM and HIS plan-asking God to intervene on their behalf.
As they all wait before God, it is not Jehoshaphat who receives God's response, but a Levite in the crowd, who in that moment becomes a prophetic voice. He addresses the King, the prayer warriors around him with an answer from the Throne.
Not only does God ensure them of an impossible victory, but He reveals the exact battleplan of the enemy, and then blows their mind with a closing statement-they won't even have to lift a finger to fight!!
They were to quiet their minds, open their hearts and boldly stand on His word; not back up in fear, stand down to the approaching enemy, but to stand still.
The next morning as they set out for battle, Jehoshaphat must have sensed fear rising in the camp, for he reminds them of God's promise, encouraging his people to believe the words of the prophets-he knew there was great hope found there.
Secure in this word from the Lord, he assembles a worship band, having them lead the procession forward. As the praises lift to heaven, God begins destroying their enemy-they even turned on each other!
When God's people arrived at the battlegrounds, they found that the Lord had indeed fought and won on their behalf-not one of them was left! All that was left for them to do was to collect the plunder left behind- an overabundance that took 3 days to gather!
As a result of this unthinkable victory, a deep fear and respect for God fell over the surrounding kingdoms, the land given a rest and peaceful rule.
IF GOD can do that then-what will He do today? Do we believe the Word of the Lord? Do we receive the word of confirming prophets and succeed?
As for me and my house-we do! #2Chronicles20 #Amos0307
