Singer Kenny Rogers has died today in his Georgia home of natural causes, his family says. Rogers was under hospice care, and surrounded by family.

Over the course of his career, Rogers won three Grammy Awards, sold 120 million albums, and was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame. Some of his most famous songs include 'Island in the Stream,' 'Lady,'  and 'The Gambler,' which was added to the Library of Congress National Recording Registry.

In 2017 Rogers announced his retirement to fans, saying, “I’ve done everything I set out to do. Every goal I’ve set, I’ve done that, and there’s a point where you have to say, ‘I’ve had my turn. Let someone else have it,’ and that’s kind of where I am. It’s not that I dislike music; it’s just that I can’t keep doing this and do what I want to do, which is spend time with my family.”

The Rogers family is planning a private service, and say that a public service will be scheduled at a later time, due to Coronavirus concerns.
