We all have our own personal battles to struggle through on top of everything else. We all handle strife differently. However, when it comes to the troubles dealing with our country, our nation, or the world, everyone should come together and work as one. Not everyone can serve in the armed forces, be a police officer, or run and hold office in our government. Not all of us can be doctors, lawyers, or run a huge company but we can and should all be Patriots. Men and women who work 8 to 16 hours a day are the backbones of this country, we are what keeps this nation running smoothly. 

Like our mothers and fathers, we are raising a family and it is our children who will determine whether this country has a tomorrow or not. How we bring up our child is or should be on us as parents. We start to educate and train our children from birth. Whether or not we get a paycheck or not for being their teachers isn't important. How they are taught is. There is more to educating a child other than reading, writing, and arithmetic.

Reading is the carriage that carries a person into the realm of knowledge and thought. Writing enables us to express ourselves without ever having to make a sound.  Penmanship is something of the past. No one nearly ever sits down to write a letter. Computers have replaced paper and pen. While computers have without a doubt open the world to us but it has also made us weak-minded. It is said that arithmetic is about the stewardship of life. I do not fully agree with that. I do believe that numbers are important, our world is based on numbers. Time, locations/addresses, determine the amount of something - your paychecks are the biggest one. Numbers are greatly overused but the world knows no other way so we deal with it. History and science are just as important or so I feel especially history. History is a guideline used to remind us of both our success and our failures. It helps us or so it should help us from making the same mistakes over again. History is the blueprint for our future. 

However, there are other subjects just as important to teach our children. As a parent, as a Patriot, we have to teach our children - morals, respect, honesty, a love of one's self, of others, our country. We have to teach them right from wrong and we have to teach them over a higher power. Faith comes in many different shapes, sizes, and colors. That higher force may be either a male, a female, or one of each. That is up to you whom you believe in, it is your choice to decide. 

Step up and take responsibility for your own actions and stop looking for someone to blame for your shortcomings. Teach your children to do the same. Stop allowing the state or the world to dictate or challenge the way you bring up your child. You don't like the way they are being taught in school by a certain teacher or rule the school board may have - change it, have the teacher removed, form a parents committee, and change the rules the school may have. Should you have a problem with laws your local, state, or country may be enforcing then do something about it. Whoever is sitting in a certain office was voted in - you can and should vote them out. Do everything by the book legally and never back down. When doing it legally doesn't work...that is a whole different subject for another day.
